//Rhinebeck Estate Lower Level

When renovating the home we needed an extra space for guests. A simple guest bedroom would not suffice. We needed a multifunctional space for guests to relax but also serve as a space for a private chef to prepare, staging for event staff, and even a space that we can easily transition into a TV room and play area for the kids.

Situated on the ground level, double doors open to the orchard offering a wonderful opportunity for a live-in chefs kitchen. Soapstone countertops and granite backsplash create a dialogue that connected the exterior into the rest of the home.

As in the rest of the home, 90’s touches can be found throughout. Red and White checkered Marmoleum flooring gives subtle playfulness to a seriously functional space. An oversize sectional, patterned furniture, and hand block printed curtains tie in this level to the rest of the home’s nod to the 90’s.

As with every lower level renovation, creating light in a four walled space was essential given the inability to install windows below ground. LED panels were installed on every wall to mimic natural light from windows and give the space an extraordinary above ground experience.
